Children

Everyone is welcome at Gregans Castle Hotel, children included. A selection of rooms are suitable for families and some open onto their own garden area, which is perfect for little explorers. Being so popular, we do recommend booking our family rooms in advance, but if you’re too late we’ll allocate you suitable rooms next to each other, when availability allows.

People come from far and wide to enjoy our food and we want to extend this treat to our younger diners too. We have a specially-designed children’s menu and, if they see something they like from the main menu, we’re happy to serve half portions. Children over the age of 7 are welcome to eat with their parents in the Dining Room at anytime. Children under 7 years are required to eat no later than 6pm in the Dining Room (or later in their bedroom). Of course their parents can eat with them at 6pm or on their own later as preferred.

Little ones asleep and you’ve got some peace and quiet? We can arrange a babysitting service with 48 hours notice. If you’d like to organise any of these options, tell us about any special dietary requirements your child has, or make sure you can use our highchairs or cots, please let us know when you make your booking.

When your children are happy, you’re happy. We understand that. So there are lots of fun activities in the hotel for them, like board games, DVDs and a garden full of secret nooks and crannies for them to get lost in. And, the surrounding area is the biggest and most beautiful playground they’ll ever set foot in!

Aillwee Cave and Birds of Prey Centre nearby are always instant winners whatever the weather, and if the sun is out when you come to stay there are loads of fun outdoor activities. There are some good riding centres close by that cater for all levels of ability and we can thoroughly recommend a guided pony trek for all the family on the Burren hills. The visitor centre at Caherconnell Stone Fort holds sheepdog demonstrations and there's even local rock climbing and surfing classes. And, we've also got buckets, spades and shrimping nets that you can take to the gorgeous nearby beaches. It's fair to say that enjoyment comes naturally here.
