Gregans

Children

Children are always very welcome at Gregans Castle Hotel. While we do not have purpose built facilities for them there are a plethora of activities, board games, dvds and gardens full of secret nooks and crannies for them to get lost in. A selection of our rooms are suitable for families and we are always happy to facilitate the allocation of suitable rooms next to each other. We do however recommend that this is done well in advance as the family rooms are very popular and flexibility is greatest when bookings are made early. Some rooms open onto the gardens directly and are also very popular as they allow families to spread out into the surrounding space and enjoy their own private piece of garden.

Close to the hotel are many beautiful beaches and we are happy that our visiting younger guests avail of our supply of buckets, spades and shrimping nets. The Ailwee Caves and its’ wonderful Birds of Prey centre are 3 km away and are always a big draw for our young guests whatever the weather. Similarly the Burren is famous for its rare alpine flowers and a very enjoyable way to pass many hours is flower spotting. There are a few good riding centres nearby where all levels of competence are catered for and for the more energetic there are rock climbing and surfing classes available locally. The world famous Cliffs of Moher and Poulnabrone Dolmen beg to be visited also. Please check the nearby attractions section of this website for more details.

With regards food, childrens high tea is available from 5-6 by prior arrangement. Our children’s menu is available to see online although we are very happy to cater for specific dietary requests if we get advance notice. Children over the age of 7 are very welcome to eat with their parents in the dining room although we encourage parents to book an early table. We are happy to serve half potions of the main menu for children.

Babysitting can be arranged although booking in advance is helpful. We also provide a listening service via the telephone in your room.

We have a few high chairs and cots for guests use. Please arrange in advance if these are required.
