Getting Around Car Hire There are numerous car hire companies in the arrivals hall at Shannon International Airport. Alternatively you can arrange to hire a car after your arrival at the hotel. There are four daily buses from Galway City to Ballyvaughan village during the summer months and two for the rest of the year. Some buses will stop at the hotel gate. Ballyvaughan village is 5km from the hotel. The nearest inter-city rail station is at Galway. Shannon Car Ferry If you are travelling to or from County Kerry, we recommend The Shannon Car Ferry. This 20 minute journey across the Shannon Estuary will cut your journey time by 1 hour. It will also take you on a more scenic route as well as giving you a break from driving. You do not pre-book as it runs every half hour. www.shannonferries.com The Aran Islands Aran Island Fast Ferries operate a passenger ferry service to The Aran Islands from nearby Doolin during the months of April to October. www.aranislandsfastferries.com There are other ferry services from Rossaveal in South Conemara.
